Central Control of up to 16 Sun Servers

There are three MasterConsole SMX models: SMX18 controls 8 Sun servers from one user console (Sun keyboard, monitor, and mouse), SMX28 controls 8 Sun servers from two simultaneous user consoles, and SMX416 controls 16 Sun servers from one to four simultaneous user consoles.

The SMX on-screen user interface simplifies both user operation and system management. System Administration menus provide for assigning meaningful names to each connected Sun server and maintaining the list of names of authorized users. Also, if desired, you can assign security classifications to each server and access rights to each user. Each user's on-screen menu shows which computers are available for selection. When selected, the server's name and channel ID are displayed on the screen for pos- itive identification and that server is now unavailable to the other users (SMX28 and SMX416). The SMX PublicView feature enables two or more users to share video on the SMX28 and SMX416.

 

Installation is simple and neat. Connect Sun servers, user con- soles, and cascaded SMX units with our easy-to-manage, coaxial cables in lengths of 2, 6.5, 13, 20, and 30 feet, with extensions to 60 feet. With Raritan's SMX you have the flexibility to organize and manage your Sun servers for maximum operational productivity.
