CIMs are an integral part of Raritan's Paragon-centric solutions, whether connected between the Paragon switch and servers to facilitate non-blocked server access, or connected in a chain-like Z-CIM to Z-CIM arrangement, enabling clustered access to high-density servers without the usual cable clutter. Each CIM or Z-CIM connects to the keyboard, video, and mouse ports of each server, providing keyboard/mouse emulation, fail-safe server access, and Raritan Guardian® technology -- a "virtual" keyboard and mouse to enable "hot swapping" and simple reconfiguration of connections.
