BASIC PROTECTION-for single PCs or workstations where downtime is tolerable, but data loss must be avoided. The UPS should be able to provide enough back-up time for a graceful shutdown of the protected equipment.
NETWORK PROTECTION- true on-line protection for network servers, bridges, hubs, routers, storage devices and critical workstations. The UPS may require extended battery time to provide adequate ride-through of shorter outages, as well as enough time for a graceful shutdown of the system in the event of an extended loss of utility power.

The P.O.D. allows you to manually transfer your connected equipment to utility power via a maintenance bypass switch, permitting scheduled maintenance or UPS replacement without power disruption.
The P.O.D. has two modes of operation, UPS mode (UPS available) and utility mode (maintenance bypass). During the UPS mode, the power is being routed through the UPS system. During the utility mode of operation, power is being routed around (bypassing) the UPS system with power being supplied to the connected load through the P.O.D.

- Allows UPS maintenance or replacement of the UPS without discontinuing power to critical equipment.
- Easily installed - the UPS and utility power are both connected to the POD with the supplied cord.
