Analog KVM Matrix Switching AMX® KVM switches
Analog KVM matrix switching provides real-time access to local computing resources. The technology is implemented in many cases where users require high quality real-time video connections to multiple computers, as in test labs, design environments and broadcast studios. In other cases the technology may be used to manage small single location data centers because of simplicity of installation and setup. Analog KVM matrix switching may also be found in larger data centers as a local analog backup connection to the KVM over IP management system. SOLUTIONS The Avocent AMX® analog KVM switching solution provides simultaneous real-time user access to all major server platforms and serial devices. This solution provides end-to-end CAT 5 UTP connectivity for access from the server to the desk. The AMX analog KVM switching system features full-system management with an advanced Java-based administration tool, optimal video resolution and an on-screen graphical interface. The AMX switch can operate over your existing UTP cable infrastructure and optional skew compensation ensures video quality is automatically adapted to cable type and length. AMX analog KVM matrix switching is simple to install and use, and the dedicated CAT 5 UTP cable connectivity and user access authentication ensures complete security independent of any IP network. AMX switches can be used to aggregate local ports on Avocent DSR® KVM Over IP switches, or on an existing rack- based analog KVM solution.
